I'm Sharon Shomaker, the heart & soul behind I am Rising Up.
My mission is to help others heal from the trauma that stems from living in a culture that has set us up to live a life deeply disconnected from ourselves.
This part of my journey started when motherhood offered me an invitation to hold a mirror to myself and from there, I've spent the last decade examining the role that traditional style parenting and schooling has played in shaping how I (and we) show up in this world.
Prior to that, pursuing a BA in Communication gave me the opportunity to deep dive into how we have been conditioned by the programming that is passed down through the generations and continually perpetuated in the media. Leaving imprints on us and influencing our beliefs and behaviors.
Armed with this awareness, I've committed to living my life with the deepest intention of helping my children not have to walk a similar path, healing myself from a lifetime of self-betrayal, people pleasing, not showing up fully alive, and helping others reconnect with themselves so we can create a revolution of people RISING UP to the highest version of themselves.
"Sharon is full of so much love, wisdom, grace and integrity that it feels like you are being held by Mama Gaia when in her presence. She is of this Earth, deeply grounded and connected to it's rhythms and energy. She embodies the nurturing, thoughtful, kind and loving Divine Feminine energy of a beloved Mama, Sister and Friend. She cares. Deeply.
She holds space for others with such care and curiosity. She graciously shares her intuitive wisdom and always sees the gift in the situation. Sharon has an incredible heart for Mamas and their families and knows from her own experiences both the pain and joy of parenting. She reminds me that I don't have to be a perfect Mama - just a loving one! "

"I can’t recommend Sharon enough, as a healer and guide for anyone healing their trauma. She has held space for me in some of the deepest, most vulnerable places I’ve been and has always done it with SO MUCH presence and love and integrity and compassion and honesty and gentle power. She has blown me away more than once with what she would say after a deeply vulnerable moment, and has brought me to the best kind of tears more than once. The space she holds is a gift for anyone who is in a healing space with her. Do yourself a favor, and give yourself the gift of her healing presence."

"Sharon has an undeniable magic with words. She has a way of seeing, and revealing the texture of mum life - whether you are a new mama, or an aspiring mama-preneur, her words have a way of making you feel seen in all the trials and tribulations that trip you up, how the banalities of modern day mumming can tak on the proportions of its own drama-scape, and in how your heart's desires can falter in the cold harsh light of our late stage capitalist society. Weaving this magic with her presence, she offers a companion who walks alongside you in your journey while holding the highest of intentions for your desires."

"Sharon has been such an inspiration for me to slow down and enjoy my two boys. Her powerful spoken word has touched me so much that I was brought to tears, especially her message about how she takes the time to connect with her children at bedtime instead of rushing through it. This prompted me to make changes during our bedtime routine that have created positive shifts for my family. I have been in awe of how she allows the Divine to flow through her in such a way that helps me be a better mom. I am so incredibly grateful for Sharon!"
